The prime minister took the decision following his meeting with mobile phone operators.
Ashraf said that the sims will be available for customers at franchise and operative centres. The prime minister also decided to lift ban on mobile phone numbers portability.
He directed the operators and retailers of mobile phone sims to setup biometric centers in two months. He also issued directives to ensure verification of IMEI numbers of handset.
