According to security forces, Rangers conducted a targeted search operation in Mehmoodabad, Pak Colony and the adjoining areas and arrested at least 22 suspects. The detained suspects include three local office bearers of political parties.
The security forces taking part in the operation also claimed that arms and ammunition have been recovered during the raid. A Kalashnikov was also found from a political worker’s house in Water and Sewage Board Staff Colony.
During a raid in Pak Colony, the security forces arrested seven suspects and recovered hand grenades, a walkie-talkie set, binoculars, pistol and 25 kg drugs from their possession.
During the operation, the entry and exit points of the area were sealed while the arrested suspects have been shifted to undisclosed location for further investigation.
