Muhammad Asif who has now became the world champion in Snooker

SOPHIA, Bulgaria: Pakistani cueist Muhammad Asif who has now became the world champion said that winning a world title was not an easy job for him.

Speaking to Geo News, he said that Pakistan could win more titles in the future if the players were provided with jobs. Asif said that the Billiard and Snooker Federation faced difficulties in managing funds to send him Bulgaria to take part in the tournament.

“By the grace of Allah I won the title with nation’s prayers, I am happy and thankful to my people for their prayers,” he added.

Replying a query as what was in his mind when he was close to victory, he said Allah gave him courage and he managed to strengthen himself.

He said that Pakistan players could be prepared for international games if they were given jobs in different departments.

The world champion said that his next target was to play snooker as professional player. He said credit to his triumph went to his parents.

He lamented that he was a jobless man and didn’t receive any response to any application he sent to different departments for job.

“I kept playing as Snooker was my passion,” Muhammad Asif concluded.
