Sharmila Tagore has finally admitted that there were no religious conversions for her son Saif and daughter-in-law Kareena Kapoor during their wedding.
It was being conjectured that a Nikaah was performed and before that Kareena had to convert to Islam. This rumor was fueled more after Kareena's snapshots wearing the traditional Muslim sharara of her mother-in-law were circulated in the media.
The couple refused to comment on their religious status post wedding, keeping the rumour mills active.
So when mom Sharmila Tagore finally confirmed that there were "no conversions " on either side during Kareena and Saif's wedding, it put to rest all related gossips.
"Like Saif said it beautifully. It was a marriage of two people in love and that's how it should be looked at only." said Sharmila.
Actors Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor were married in a private ceremony on October 16. They were in a live-in relationship from the past five years. It is Saif's second marriage. Earlier he was married to actor Amrita Singh and has two children from this wedlock.
